This update became a bit larger than I expected, but I think it was worth the extra time & effort!
Major Updates
- Rage is no longer roll under/over. Now, your Rage level determines the threshold for checks and players always want to roll high.
- No more d10! Everything uses a d6 now.
- Inciting Incidents are more tightly defined, with new rules to hook players in the first scene.
- Complications have been redesigned slightly to simply the process for Directors and build more narratively.
New Content
- Advice for Players and Directors has been added.
- Items are significantly fleshed out.
- Setting info added.
- Character sheets, session sheets, and rules references are in separate PDFs now.
Minor Updates
- Tables added for Vice & starting Loadout in character creation.
- Rage Check renamed to Risk Check.
- Normal Check renamed to Safe Check.
- Complex Task renamed to Montage.
Excited to share these changes! These were based on in-person playtesting and written reviews—the goal is to streamline the rules while providing some additional tools/tables to create exciting situations at the table.
P.S. The layout has suffered in a couple places in order to accommodate the new rules—that will get fixed eventually.
